NU Construction have successfully completed the extension and renovation at Cockburn School, Leeds where three science labs were extended and modernised to provide students with state-of-the-art learning environments. The project, which also included additional refurbishments, aimed to enhance the school’s science facilities whilst meeting budget and timeline constraints.
This project was meticulously planned and executed in phases to minimise disruptions to ongoing school activities. The project was completed within the 28-week contract period, ensuring that students could benefit from the improved facilities without delay.
Works comprised of the construction of a steel framed and rendered blockwork extension along with extensive drainage modifications to accommodate the new construction, which posed logistical challenges. Works also included classroom conversion, sub-division of laboratories alongside the extension which were carefully co-ordinated with the lab extension.
The extended and renovated science labs now offer spacious, well-equipped environments for hands on learning and experiments.
