The conversion of a Grade 2 Listed building to form 7 apartments with ground floor retail space.
A new piled foundation and steel framed modern extension to the listed building is to be erected to form ground floor retail and 30 apartments over a further 4 floors.
The building is now fully occupied by both residents and retail tenants.
The works comprised the design, construction and completion of a mixed use development including shell only commercial space and 37 no apartments together with associated external works and drainage.
The works comprise both refurbishment and alterations of the existing grade 2 listed building and the construction of a new build steel framed 5 storey multi occupation building with all ancillary mechanical and electrical installations.
The works were carried out in a very confined city centre environment with specific restrictions on loading and access including the closure of an adjacent public road and footpaths to assist with carrying out the works.
The building was clad externally in Corten sheet materials and incorporated oversailing high level window pods to enhance the building design.
This building won Insider North West Residential Property Apartment Development of the year 2017.
